A Boating Event to Support Kidney Patients

Raise Money while Sailing

What:  The Blackwater Yacht Racing Association (BYRA) and Pelican Point Yacht Club (PPYC) will provide a fundraising event to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake (SML) and to raise proceeds for the National Kidney Foundation (NFK) through their Team Kidney program.

Why:  "The National Kidney Foundation raises awareness of kidney disease, organ donation and the importance of a healthy lifestyle" says Pete Phillip, membership chairman of BYRA.  "We're excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake by asking those who participate to not only challenge themselves in the race but to challenge their fundraising capabilities.  It's a win win for everyone."

Where:  Pelican Point Yacht Club, Smith Mountain Lake, VA

When: Saturday, May 21, 2016

Who: Open to all keel boats
